Our Areas Of Care

Bluebell – time to explore

(Aged 1 – 2 years)

As soon as your baby starts to find their feet we will talk to you about moving to our Bluebell Room. During there time in the Bluebell room your child will learn how to walk properly and become more co-ordinated. They will be protected from hard falls by our soft floor surfaces.

In the Bluebell room we use visual, physical and audio educational resources to stimulate the children, and they have structured periods of play and sleep time. Everything from art & crafts, music, drama and tactile activities are on the curriculum here to develop their senses, confidence and also their concentration. Our Bluebell room is where your child will spend much of their day experimenting, exploring and beginning to socialise.

We also do observations on the children in this room and fill in observation and developmental check lists on each child.  These forms will be attached to your childs file and available for you to veiw on request.  These can be a very helpful tool in seeing how your child is developing throughout his/her stay at Tiny Tots Paradise Creche & Homework Club.

Daisy – look who’s talking

(Aged 2 – 3 years)

At this stage your child will have become very steady on their feet. In the Daisy Room we introduce more advanced equipment, arts and crafts and a daily schedule of activities. Your child’s vocabulary will increase and they will soon be able to form simple sentences. They will make lots of little friends and will enjoy taking part in group learning.

By the time your child is ready to leave the Daisy Room they will have a good level of communication and will now be able to retain vast amounts of information and to formulate ideas. During this time, we will also work with you to toilet-train your child when you decide the time is right.

Daffodil– preparing the way

(Aged 3 – 4 years)

Our Daffodil room is where your child will first experience a more structured environment. In Daffodils we gently ease your child into this more structured school environment. Your child will adapt and become used to setting on a chair at a table and to concentrating for longer periods to time. All children develop at different speeds and Daffodils allows us to assess how each child is faring with the different tasks set. By spending more individual time at this stage, we are able to start introducing new techniques slowly to your child as soon as their abilities allow.

Our Daffodil room can accommodate up to 14 children. The adult/child ratio in this room is 1 Adult for every 8 Children, this number changes to 1Adult to 11 Children during their ECCE session.

Sunflower - Irish first (3 - 5 Years)

The Sunflower Room provides a broad and flexible activity programme based on the seasons and annual festivals.  The programme places an emphasis on play to develop the children's skills in a holistic manner, to include social, cognative, motor and personal skills.  The activities are suitable for this age group, to develop listening, memory, comprehension and problem solving skills and to increase their independence, self-confidence and respect.

The facilities fulfill the requirements in accordance with Childcare Rgulations (Pre-school Services), 2006, in relation to heat, space, light and safety.  Sand, water, paint, books, jigsaws, board games and puppets are among the resources availale to the children.

There is also equipment available for imaginative and construction games along with a nature table and music table.

Play, storytelling, rhymes and songs are used to help the children acquire Irish naturally.  Educational experts believe that bilingulism bestows many positive benefits on children.  Bilingualism gives the children another view of the world.

The materials were all designed to meet a child’s natural interests. In the Primrose classroom the atmosphere and the environment are extremely important so in Tiny Tots Paradise it is prepared and equipped to help children accomplish their goals in their own manner, whether at work or at play. Our teachers are qualified in Early Childhood Care and Education with years of experience and create a positive, supportive, calm and non competitive atmosphere. We believe that a children have a delineation of sensitive periods of development, during which a child’s mind is particularly open to learning specific skills of knowledge, including language development and sensorial experimentation. Tiny Tots Paradise caters for preschool children at all different stages of learning and every child’s individual curiosities and interests.
