Our Areas Of Care

Babies – care and attention

(3 months – 1year)

Handing over the care of your baby for the first time is a huge step for any parent. But while it may be hard on you, your baby will quickly adapt to their new surroundings and learn to know and trust their carers. We will help you to settle your baby into our care over a period of days or weeks. We will talk to you in great detail about all aspects of our care and try to accommodate any special requests you may have.

Our baby-care room is spacious and self-contained, to allow our team to give your baby the individual care and attention they need at this early stage. Our baby room provides a calm, tranquil yet stimulating environment for your child. We maintain a high ratio of nursery nurses to babies. All our baby room staff are fully trained Nursery Nurses with Pediatric First Aid Training. We record all feeding, sleeping, medical administration and nappy changing in your baby’s journal so that you can monitor your baby’s routine closely.

We also carry out observations on the children in this room and fill in observation and developmental check lists on each child.  These forms will be attached to your childs file and available for you to veiw on request.  These can be a very helpful tool in seeing how your child is developing throughout his/her stay at Tiny Tots Paradise Creche & Homework Club.

Wobblers – time to explore

(Aged 1 – 2 years)

As soon as your baby starts to find their feet we will talk to you about moving to our Wobbler Room. During there time in the Wobbler room your child will learn how to walk properly and become more co-ordinated. They will be protected from hard falls by our soft floor surfaces.

In the wobbler room we use visual, physical and audio educational resources to stimulate the children, and they have structured periods of play and sleep time. Everything from art & crafts, music, drama and tactile activities are on the curriculum here to develop their senses, confidence and also their concentration. Our Wobbler room is where your child will spend much of their day experimenting, exploring and beginning to socialise.

We also do observations on the children in this room and fill in observation and developmental check lists on each child.  These forms will be attached to your childs file and available for you to veiw on request.  These can be a very helpful tool in seeing how your child is developing throughout his/her stay at Tiny Tots Paradise Creche & Homework Club.

Toddlers – look who’s talking

(Aged 2 – 3 years)

At this stage your child will have become very steady on their feet. In the Toddler Room we introduce more advanced equipment, arts and crafts and a daily schedule of activities. Your child’s vocabulary will increase and they will soon be able to form simple sentences. They will make lots of little friends and will enjoy taking part in group learning.

By the time your child is ready to leave the Toddler Room they will have a good level of communication and will now be able to retain vast amounts of information and to formulate ideas. During this time, we will also work with you to toilet-train your child when you decide the time is right.

PlaySchool– preparing the way to Montessori

All children develop at different speeds and Pre-school allows us to assess how each child is faring with the different tasks set. By spending more individual time at this stage, we are able to start introducing slowly the Montessori technique to your child as soon as their abilities allow.

Our Playschool room can accommodate up to 14 children. The adult/child ratio in this room is 1 Adult for every 10 Children.

Naionra - Irish first (3 - 5 Years)

The Naionra provides a broad and flexible activity programme based on the seasons and annual festivals.  The programme places an emphasis on play to develop the children's skills in a holistic manner, to include social, cognative, motor and personal skills.  The activities are suitable for this age group, to develop listening, memory, comprehension and problem solving skills and to increase their independence, self-confidence and respect.

The facilities fulfill the requirements in accordance with Childcare Rgulations (Pre-school Services), 2006, in relation to heat, space, light and safety.  Sand, water, paint, books, jigsaws, board games and puppets are among the resources availale to the children.

There is also equipment available for imaginative and construction games along with a nature table and music table.

Play, storytelling, rhymes and songs are used to help the children acquire Irish naturally.  Educational experts believe that bilingulism bestows many positive benefits on children.  Bilingualism gives the children another view of the world.

Montessori – The final stretch

(Aged 4 – 5 years)

In Tiny Tots Paradise Crehce & Homework Club, we use the Montessori Method of education in our preschool room. The Montessori Method is both an educational philosophy and methodology developed in the 19th century by Dr. Maria Montessori. Dr. Montessori specifically designed apparatus and a teaching philosophy to encourage children to develop their skills in language, practical life, use of their five senses, mathematics, science, geography and the arts. The materials were all designed to meet a child’s natural interests. In the Montessori classroom the atmosphere and the environment are extremely important so in Tiny Tots Paradise it is prepared and equipped to help children accomplish their goals in their own manner, whether at work or at play. Our classroom is a prepared environment designed to support your child’s need for purposeful activity. Our teacher is qualified in Montessori teaching with years of experience, she will create a positive, supportive, calm and non competitive atmosphere. Dr. Montessori believed that a child has a delineation of sensitive periods of development, during which a child’s mind is particularly open to learning specific skills of knowledge, including language development and sensorial experimentation. Tiny Tots Paradise caters for preschool children at all different stages of learning and all a child’s individual curiosities and interests.

A calm, respectful and affectionate atmosphere is created in the room as children engage in many different mental and physical activities such as:

  • Language Skills
  • Writing Skills
  • Numeric Skills
  • Science
  • Circle time
  • Practical life skills
  • Sensorial work and play
  • Singing and dancing
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Scissor control and use
  • Cooking.

The Montessori Curriculum runs from September to the end of June. During the summer months a more play oriented curriculum applies.

We also do observations on the children in this room and fill in observation and developmental check lists on each child.  These forms will be attached to your child’s file and available for you to view on request.  These can be a very helpful tool in seeing how your child is developing throughout his/her stay at Tiny Tots Paradise.
